Life After Lord Voldemort: Ralph Fiennes

Welcome back, Potterheads! Last week we discussed Tom Felton, and what he has been doing post-Potter. This week’s spotlight is reserved for the the villains of all villains (no, not Professor Umbridge): Ralph Fiennes infamously known as Lord Voldemort.

I just want to clarify that Lord Voldemort was played by six different actors as they needed younger versions of Tom Riddle and some actors just for voicing or body purposes. So in that case, I would also like to give a shout out to the other Tom Riddles or Lord Voldemorts that helped this movie franchise be what it is today. Whether it was a big role or a small part, thank you to Richard Bremmer (body only), Ian Hart (voice and motion capture), Christian Coulson (teenage Tom Riddle), Frank Dillane (second teenage Tom Riddle), and Hero Fiennes Tiffin (11-year-old Tom Riddle) for doing an amazing job at helping to craft what is known today as one of the worst villains in history, As stated above, today's blog will be aimed towards the most prominent Lord Voldemort. While reading all about Ralph Fiennes, keep in mind that this is how to correctly pronounce his name:

The 53-year-old actor is not new when it comes to acting. Fiennes made his television acting debut in 1991 in the British series A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia, and his acting career took off from there. Whereas the younger cast of the Harry Potter series received most of their fame from the series, Fiennes had incredibly famous roles before and after the world renowned franchise--one of which being his 1993 role as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List.

Since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II ended in 2012, Fiennes has starred in over 18 pieces of work including film, television and lending his voice for animated films. I have broken his work down into three different sections in order to fully cover the post-Potter aspect of Fiennes' life.

Even though the entire world hated Lord Voldemort, it truly shows how incredible of an actor that Ralph Fiennes is. Although the character of Lord Voldemort is a terrible man with a depressing past, Fiennes brought such hatred and fear to life with his beautiful and dark acting skills. The best part is, he was famous before Harry Potter and he will continue to be after Harry Potter. I look forward to seeing what else Fiennes brings to life in the near future.
